Elevate Your Community's Security with Cloud-Based Access Control

In today’s fast-paced world, managing a homeowners association (HOA) requires both efficiency and reliability. Modern access control systems must be both powerful and easy to manage. That’s where cloud-based hosting steps in—enhancing your security infrastructure with flexibility, resilience, and unmatched convenience.

Why Cloud Hosting for Access Control Matters

Bringing It All Together

By embracing cloud-hosted access control, your HOA gains a scalable and secure solution that elevates day-to-day operations—for board members, on-site staff, and residents alike. HOA Technology is here to make that transition seamless and customized to your needs.

How to Transfer Kantech Data to the Cloud

Moving your Kantech access control system to a cloud-hosted environment is one of the best ways to future-proof your security infrastructure. By hosting in the cloud, you eliminate the need for onsite servers, gain remote management capabilities, and ensure your community’s data is backed up and protected.

Here’s how the process works:

1. Assess Your Current System

  • Review your existing EntraPass software version, hardware controllers (KT-1, KT-400, etc.), and database structure.

  • Verify compatibility with cloud hosting—HOA Technology and our integration partners will help determine what upgrades, if any, are needed.

2. Prepare Your Database

  • Backup the EntraPass Database from your local server.

  • This backup contains all of your system data: users, access levels, schedules, card credentials, and event logs.

  • Encrypt or securely package the backup before transfer to ensure data integrity.

3. Provision Cloud Hosting

  • HOA Technology (in partnership with ProTEK Integration) provisions a secure cloud environment for your community.

  • This includes redundancy, automatic backups, and disaster recovery protocols.

  • Your new cloud server is configured to match your community’s structure and access requirements.

4. Data Migration

  • Upload your backed-up EntraPass database into the cloud environment.

  • Our technicians validate the data to ensure all users, credentials, and schedules import correctly.

  • Any necessary adjustments—such as access level mapping—are made at this stage.

5. Connect Hardware to the Cloud

  • Controllers (KT-1, KT-400) are pointed to the new cloud-hosted server address.

  • Firewalls and network settings are updated to allow secure communication with the hosted environment.

  • All onsite hardware is tested to confirm seamless communication.

6. Enable Remote Access

  • Your team is given cloud login credentials for EntraPass Web and EntraPass Go mobile apps.

  • With cloud hosting, you can manage doors, users, and reports anytime, anywhere—without needing access to a local server.

7. Test & Validate

  • Run system tests:

    • Add a new user and credential

    • Trigger a door event

    • Generate a report

    • Confirm alarm/event notifications

  • Validate that the migration is successful and all permissions carry over correctly.

8. Decommission Local Servers (Optional)

  • Once the cloud environment is fully live and tested, your onsite EntraPass server can be retired—freeing up IT resources and eliminating maintenance costs.

Benefits of Moving Kantech to the Cloud

  • No Onsite Servers: Reduce costs and maintenance headaches.

  • Automatic Backups: Protect your database with redundant storage.

  • Mobile Management: Control doors, users, and reports from your phone.

  • Scalability: Add new sites, doors, or users without rebuilding your infrastructure.

  • Reliability: Cloud hosting ensures uptime and continuity, even if local hardware fails.
